paul kenton was born in the late 1960s in derby. after moving to north devon at the
age of eight, he grew to love the sea as an artistic spark and influence – at the same
time, developing his artistic talents and abilities, painting the coastal scenes he
loved. he hoped to study art after school, but the required grades meant he was
forced to study engineering instead.
leaving a career as a draughtsman after a number of years , kenton began travelling
the world, immersing himself in his love of the ocean through surfing, and once
more turned to the world of art. with the support of a grant from the prince's youth
business trust, kenton was able to move into a career as a full time artist in 1995.
kenton's unique artworks attracted attention and admiration from many. in 2012, he
was commissioned to create artworks for the london olympic games, cementing his
status as a highly regarded uk and international artist.
kenton now displays work throughout the uk. his work, inspired by his travels to
cities around the world, continues to engage followers, fans and collectors.
