artist rebecca lardnerrebecca larder’s distinctive artwork finds its roots in her upbringing. born in swanage in 1971, she grew up surrounded by the countryside, seaside, and coastal life of dorset. she recalls being “happiest amongst nature” and observing the life around her as she grew up – locations and characters from which can now be seen in her art. lardner attended bournemouth and poole college of art and design, and then sir john moore’s university in liverpool, graduating with a ba honours degree in illustration. she went on to begin work as professional illustrator and artist directly after graduating. lardner’s career has been punctuated by high achievements, such as completing a painting that was commissioned for sir paul mccartney’s music academy, and set of window displays for the exclusive brown thomas department store in dublin. the fine art trade guild named her best-selling up and coming artist in 2008, and best-selling artist in 2010. with representation around the uk, lardner continues to exhibit and sell her work on a regular basis. she has gained an international collector base for her original artwork, limited editions, sculptures and other art products.
