michael perez biography

michael perez was born in new york city; being raised in this city allowed him to attend some well known art schools including the high school of art and design, the parsons school of design and the pratt institute. he was also able to take advantage of the city’s art scene when beginning his career, selling his work on the streets of greenwich village.

as his career progressed, perez relocated to southampton in long island, favouring the relaxed attitudes of the area, as well as the openness held toward art and artists. he achieved additional success at this time when it came to sales – he also found great inspiration for his bold and colourful works in the vibrant coastal community and its natural surroundings.

eventually, perez decided to find a place in the new york art scene once more, and contribute to the city’s reviving status as an artistic centre for the usa. his galleries and work received a great deal of attention, and his fame grew considerably.

after a successful five years in new york, perez moved his focus back to southhampton, returning to painting full time, and continuing to build an ongoing relationship with the surrounding artistic community.
