Born in 1969 and raised in Chesterfield, Shaun Othen learned to appreciate a wide variety of classical artists growing up.
When he joined the Falmouth School of Art, he discovered a passion for figurative artwork and photographic realism. Following his studies, he enjoyed a successful career creating commissioned artworks for book jackets and high end magazines.
Now, creating his own art, Shaun has evolved his own unique style from his previously strict rule or realism. Delicate moments of precise detail are combined with an expressive, abstracted approach. The results are dreamy, evocative scenes that still showcase Shaun’s incredible abilities in realistic, anatomical artwork.
Shaun runs the Dev Art Space with his wife, passing on his appreciation for classical art training to other artists. His work is held in private collections around the world.
